Life Coaching is a priceless gift you give to yourself.
Having been on both sides of Life Coaching, being personally coached and coaching others, it baffles me how only a small percentage of the population actually hire a Life Coach. I guess it really shouldn’t, because when I look at the percentage of talkers and doers in society when it comes to everything from losing weight, exercising, having healthy relationships, or changing careers, many complain but few actually ever do what it takes to make the necessary changes. Considering human nature, perhaps that’s how it will always be.
You see, I have a very different perspective of myself as a person and what I value than many people. To me, investing in my own personal and spiritual growth is the most important thing I have done and will continue to do in this lifetime. I put an extremely high value on myself and know that in order to be the best partner, mother, daughter, Life Coach, and well-rounded person I can be, that I sometimes need the guidance and wisdom of someone who is not attached to me emotionally, has no hidden agenda, and is not trying to push their religious, moral, or political beliefs on me. The main benefit of having a Life Coach is that it’s a “clean” relationship. A Life Coach holds my highest vision for me and guides me to where I want to go or who I want be in my life. To me, this gift is priceless and I am thankful that it’s available to me. It has changed my life, my health, my relationships, and I really could go on for hours of the benefits I have received.
My first experience with a Coach was over 25 years ago. It was eye-opening to say the least. Could I have achieved the same major internal shifts that changed my external world by venting and chatting with friends? Absolutely not! I would have just been feeding what I don’t want. Could I have received the same benefits from a self-help book or CD? Again, the answer is no. It’s great to read books or listen to ideas and suggestions, but it’s a whole other ball game to actually step out of my comfort zone and implement them.
I’m sharing this today because I hear so many people complaining about their relationships, their jobs, their weight, their health, and yet they don’t do anything about it or they stick a band-aid on it. There is a way out, but you have to take the steps or at least, if you do want to stay where you are, stop yourself from complaining to everyone and just accept the life you have chosen. Give other people a break and enjoy their company rather than stealing their time and draining them with your complaining.
Life Coaching is a priceless gift that I have given to myself over the years and I would choose it any day over an expensive dinner out, a new wardrobe, trip to Vegas, or some other fleeting expense.
I feel privileged to be providing Life Coaching services to those who truly are making changes in their lives. The value they place on themselves, their lives, and the inner work and external changes they are committed to making in their lives is also an inspiration to me.
I guess what it boils down to is “What value do you place on your life?”

Hi Jacs,
Thank you. I think people just don’t realize the power of Life Coaching. They don’t really understand what it is and it’s looked at as advice giving and therapy, which it is not. I owe my life now to the Coach who believed in me over 20yrs ago. I did the work but he held the vision for me and empowered me – a priceless gift that has remained with me.
